Notice how this artist thought about the PLACEMENT of black and white versus the 5 boxes using colors.
very creative use of collage to create a variety of hands and the words from a newspaper that mentions "a helping hand" Also notice marker, colored pencils, colored tissue paper and watercolors...now that's mixed media!
What patterns do you see? What textures? Notice how 3 of the logo shapes are white across the diagonal. How would you arrange this?
In the center was the original idea. It is a pencil drawing with a pencil. Then notice the different positioning of the pencils and how the backgrounds and colors change.
Similar to the suns and Lulu lemon logos each shape is the same. I challenge you to change it up! Imagine if you only see the whale swimming onto the square by only showing the first half of the whale and maybe on the other side you see the other half of the whale. Maybe in the middle you only see the whale's tail. Get creative with your composition!
I LOVE THE WAY THIS ARTIST SHOWED DIFFERENT PARTS/VIEWS OF THE SURFBOARD. She also included a collage (cut magazines) and ripped colored tissue paper in 3 squares.
notice above how the cans and bottles go off the page
The backgrounds are all unique. If you had created this, would you have added more inside the circles?
Here there is repetition with rainbow, with silver and gold, and warm colors on the left and cool on the right. What color schemes would you use?
This student chose to do 12 squares and used many different art supplies and each teapot is different in some way.
